Where Should We Praise God?

In the Congregation

When we gather in a temple or somewhere else in order to accomplish a service of celebration or a cellular group meeting in homes, our first action should be praising the Lord. It is not good to reach the meeting place when the time ministering to God has finished  because we are missing a special moment in which His powerful presence can manifest and we’re giving the message that we are only interested in receiving, but we are not willing to contribute anything.

Psalm 22:22,25 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

Psalm 107:32: Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

Psalm 149:1: Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

In the Sanctuary

The sanctuary is a place of worship and praise to the Lord. It is incorrect arriving to the house of God with our hands outstretched to receive, rather we should raise our hands first to praise His holy name.

Psalm 150:1: Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

Among the Nations

Those of us who live in places where people of different nationalities residing, visiting ethnic churches, we have the privilege to praise God among the nations. Similarly, when going on missions to other countries, we also have the opportunity to praise among peoples and nations.

Psalm 57:9: I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

In His Courts

When visiting someone’s home, we generally do not knock on the door to let the homeowner demand when he or she opens, , but first we welcome and usually give a compliment of what we see upon entering. Similarly we must do with God and praise should begin from the moment we walk His courts.

Psalm 100:4: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Among the Crowds

The praise of God should be done in private and in public. We should never feel ashamed to exalt His name before a large group of people. We praise Him and our thanks must be heard around the world to witness to those who do not believe.

Psalm 109:30:  I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Blessings for everybody.
