Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way. All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
God is good and always willing to take any human being from his or her mistake and guide him or her along the path of righteousness. The only condition is repentance of the sinner to receive, without deserving, mercy, love and forgiveness from the Almighty God.
When we realize how much we have offended God probably we would think that it is impossible to expect Him to come into our favor. According to human parameters, which goes around comes around. If we make a mistake in our jobs, it’s likely that we would be fired. If we are unfaithful to our partner, we are exposed to a definitive break. If we violate any law, we could go to jail or pay a fine. If we fail to pay our debts, our assets could be seized or confiscated. In natural life, forgiveness is less likely than punishment. If God will judge us with the same severity as we judge between us, the consequence of our sins condemns us eternally.
Only the infinite goodness of God gives us a chance to save us from the destination we deserve. Do not believe ourselves better than we are. Let us be humble and present our transgressions to God. Let stop being rebellious and be gentle with the Lord. Obey His Word and He will teach us, routed and direct us in His ways of mercy and truth.
The Christian singer Marcos Witt recorded a song titled “God has been good.” In one of his verses the song reads: Your goodness reached me, His love rescued me, His grace saved me, God is good. The goodness of God is so great that, while we went running down, He pursues us with His love for the sole purpose of saving grace. According to the Bible, grace is a favor that is not earned or deserved. Therefore, it is only God’s goodness that conveys that grace, unmerited favor that, this award we have not won for own merit.
Our response to such a good God must be a continual praise. Knowing how good God is, our lips are called to pronounce praise to whom has given us much more than we deserved. Every day when we wake up, the first thing we should do is give thanks and praise God for His goodness, for His love, His forgiveness and His mercy.
If you find it a little difficult to sing praises to the good God, you need to read the Psalms. This whole book of the Bible is a compendium of praise to God. Many of the Psalms were written by David when he lived fleeing their enemies, so we cannot use our adversity as an excuse not to praise the goodness of God. Imitate David and praise to our Heavenly Father every day. God bless you.
