The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.
Psalm 25:14 expresses very clearly that the intimate fellowship of the Lord is with those that fear Him, that is, those who submit to Him and obey Him; to them there will be no secret, for God known to them His covenant. God will give complete revelation of His plans, His purposes and His perfect will to all those who obey them and seek intimacy with Him. The desire of God’s heart is to have that very close relationship with us.
Amos 3:7 says: Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. Certainly the true servant of God continuously practiced fellowship with Him. For this reason, what the prophet Amos is a practical confirmation which indicates Psalm 25:14.
It’s a huge privilege to have intimacy with God and to hear what He has to say. The intimacy and fellowship with God is not limited to a simple prayer in which we talk about rush for a while, ended up with an amen and ran out to continue our daily routine. The fellowship involves a conversation with our Heavenly Father. Sure we speak, but also we shut up to hear His answer.
For some years, I practiced constantly seeking intimacy with God each day. When I did, I always had a notebook in hand and a pen to write what God was going to reveal. Most times I received an answer, although it was not always in the same way. Sometimes I had visions, sometimes felt an inner voice that I learned to distinguish from many other voices and sometimes came to my mind biblical passages. Of all these experiences I have compiled enough material to write several books. But more importantly I have received valuable information to be shared in due time with believers or those who need to hear the Word of God to repent.
Now I show you the other side of the same coin. When I neglected my daily searching for God, the result was the silence from my Heavenly Father. As a result, I stopped receiving valuable information that came before me. It is something like what happens to us when we lose touch with a close friend, who no longer entrust his or her most deep secret because we no longer seek or call him or her nor speak to him or her. Having neglected that part of my relationship with God was one of the most damaging things that ever happened to me.
Today I tell you all this, if this message has touched you, I tell you that I am also ministering myself with it. If you feel you must establish or regain your fellowship with God, I confess that I should do it too. We cannot afford to lose the immense privilege of sharing with who has loved us with an everlasting love and who wants us to know His secrets. God bless you.
