God Preserves Us from Danger

How great is Your goodness that You have stored up for those who fear You and accomplished in the sight of everyone for those who take refuge in You. You hide them in the protection of Your presence; You conceal them in a shelter from the schemes of men, from quarrelsome tongues.

Psalm 31:19-20

You have to understand the character of God to be conscious of what He will do for those who fear him, on those who trust in Him, for those who obey him. God is infinitely good and that goodness manifested in those who hope in Him. Search for God’s presence always guarantees a shelter against all our enemies. God cover us with His robe when we seek His truth coverage. When we left the presence of God we become vulnerable beings at the mercy of our enemies.

David, writer of most of the Psalms knew very well that God protected him from danger. On many occasions, and in the midst of persecution by their enemies, David was miraculously delivered from death. The Bible has many stories of men and women who trusted God and were saved from many dangerous situations for which they passed.

Some people might say that was only in biblical times. For I tell you that God continues performing miracles today. Several years ago, I was at my job and where I got a call saying that Charlie, a young man whom we had evangelized few months before had suffered a serious accident. I excused myself and left early from work to go to the hospital where Charlie was. The accident certainly was to freeze the blood. The boy dropped his head on the pavement from a height equivalent to 3 floors. He was on a scaffold doing his job as a construction helper when he suffered the accident.

When I entered his room at the hospital, the head of Charlie was very swollen; but he was conscious and in good spirits. He said he was confident that God protected him from danger and told me it was the third time that God fought him from death. He said that he once assailed in a neighborhood of Bogotá, the robbers stabbed him and left him for dead. On another occasion he was bitten by a poisonous snake and went well. So Charlie was confident that this third occasion, when he had knowledge of God, he would be fine of his accident.

The physicians who took care of him did not secure his life and had done all kinds of study to see if it was necessary to have a surgery on his head. All studies were negative and Charlie had no serious injury or required any surgery. God kept him from danger! In the same way, the Lord protects individual who trust in Him from danger, as written in Mark 16:18: they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will never harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well. God bless you.
