God gives us Strengths

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:29-31

There is no doubt that life is getting faster. We want immediate results. We use of high speeds transportation. We prepare our food in minutes. The pace that we carry wears us. So many people are suffering from anxiety and depression. The prophet Isaiah, inspired by God gives us the key to regain lost strength.

I have been a few times when I could not sleep or Lord woke me in the middle of the night. When I listened and I get up or stay without going to bed to work on the things that He has commanded me, whether I go to bed at 4 in the morning to wake up three hours later, I feel like I have slept overnight. God gives me new strength and feel no fatigue.

I see with regret as many people waste their time on activities that although at the time give some joy and pleasure, ultimately leave them exhausted. It is very common in youth supposedly going to have a party where alcohol is consumed and sometimes other more dangerous substances. During the bustle of the celebration they feel energetic and happy; but usually after the night of rumba consequences come, where fatigue is only the least serious of all.

Others become workaholic. The desire for money or for results makes these people into slaves. Do not have time to spend with their loved ones and much less with God. They are often so involved in the work even forget or overlook feeding and during evenings, they lose sleep for thinking about the tasks of the next day. Overwork decreases the strengths and it is not unusual for these people end up sick.

Whether we use our time and strengths to indulge our pleasures or live anxious to get things through our own efforts, in the end we get tired and could end up frustrated. It is not God’s desire to see us with our tongue out. It is written: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6).

Since the invention cannot exceed the inventor, human wisdom is not superior to that of his creator. Let’s use our time, first, to perform the tasks that the Lord has entrusted to us. Hopefully trusting in Him, walking in faith, no matter what we do over troubled waters. God’s faithfulness is undeniable and His promises are true. We will see new strengths born in the midst of fatigue and certainly will raise us as eagles; we will run and not be weary and walk and not be faint. God bless you.
