Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
1 Peter 4: 12-13
The apostle Peter tells us clearly that trials are no surprise and no strange thing for Christians, but on the contrary, tells us that we will participate in the sufferings of Christ and is a requirement for us to enjoy us with great joy in revelation of His glory. If you suffer from troubles and tribulations and we hold our test, we will see God working in our favor in the miraculous solution to our problems and, thus, we will see the glory of God manifested in our lives.
For most people, I included among them, life is not easy. Many are born in households with financial constraints, others with illnesses, some others have children who give a lot of headaches and many others are forced to leave their land for political or economic reasons. Like nearly every mortal has problems, one of the driving forces of human beings is to seek happiness, find ways to lack of difficult situations and make their way through this Earth as comfortable as possible without lacks what makes them feel good. That is why we find that people have tried different ways to achieve happiness and, in most cases, the attempt almost always leads to a new frustration.
The Lord spoke a parable of the sower, in which the seed was the word of God, which fell on different soil types and the result was different depending on the soil. With this parable, Jesus did not say that everything would be rosy, but the acceptance of His Word would depend on how the listener’s received it in his or her heart. Many are frustrated because after converting to Christianity they understand that life is treating them harshly. Some even move away from the church and feel cheated; but the truth is that God never promised that things would be easy, but we would have tests.
The greatness of God is unparalleled to anything we know on this Earth. He created everything that exists and whatever created never will be greater than who created it. Human science has failed to establish the limits of the universe, the beauty of creation is awesome, the treasures of this planet and most likely exist in other worlds are immeasurable. However, none of that is valuable enough to approach the value of God. Passing all tests and be approved by God, give us the privilege of serving directly to Him before His throne forever, none of the hardships that accompanied us on Earth will be present, as the Lord Jesus himself in person shall ensure that we may lack nothing. When that day comes, we will realize that it was worth the sacrifice to endure all the trials we suffer in this life. God bless you.
