Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
1 Chronicles 29:12
Human history is full of characters who have reached milestones in various areas of life. Some have held the power of large territories, who have excelled in sports or arts and who have achieved beneficial contributions to the world in science. Some have believed that their gifts and talents have made them superior to other mortals; but others have had enough humility to recognize that the source of their wealth, fame and greatness comes from God.
It is very easy to allow God to lead us in spiritual things; but many people prefer to leave Him out of material things. And is that a lot of people think He does not have jurisdiction over the riches. However it is written in Haggai 2:8: The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts. If we admit that He was the Creator of heaven and earth, absolutely everything that exists, including physical treasures belong to Him.
There is no doubt that the glory comes from God because it is yours, as Psalm 104:31 says: May the glory of the Lord endure forever. But there are people who believe glorious themselves, regardless of what the Scripture says in Isaiah 42:8: I am the Lord, that is My name;
and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. Definitely God will not share His glory with anyone because he is a jealous God, as the second of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20: 4-6) says.
As Creator of all that exists, God owns everything and as owner, He has dominion over all that exists. Psalm 103:19 says the following: The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. Dominion over all things and all beings means that He is the supreme authority. Unfortunately there are many examples in human history of men and women who believed powerful enough to do without God.
The strength and power come from God. This was recognized when Jehoshaphat said: O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? (2 Chronicles 20:6). Not to feel strong and powerful for ourselves because we could never match us to God in that.
Since God is the source of wealth and glory, who rules over everything and everyone, and who has the strength and power, He is the only one who can grant such things. Therefore, the riches that come into our hands come only from God. If we become admired it is because He has put His grace on us. When we achieve strength and power is because it has happened Ephesians 6:10 says: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. So let us thank our Heavenly Father for giving us everything, because not only loves us, forgives us and saves us, but He can do us great and empowering. God bless you.
