Everything Has its Time

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Reading the first 8 verses of chapter 3 of the book of Ecclesiastes is a great lesson for all those who want things to happen immediately without having to wait. According to this scripture reading, there is a time for each activity in the life of every human being. There will be time for situations that give us joy and other times where even we are going to suffer.

The Panamanian Ruben Blades, a famous salsa singer released an album in 1999 entitled Times which contained a title track. The chorus of this song says: There is a time to laugh and a time to mourn; a time to leave, and another to return. There is a time to live, and another to finish, there is a time to die and another to start. There is a time to suffer and a time to love; a time to feel and another to forgive. I do not know if Ruben took into account Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 when he composed this song; but certainly in the background is the same message.

There is a time set aside for everything that happens on Earth and throughout the universe. The rotation of our planet is completed in about 24 hours. Thus we see that there is a time for sunrise, a time for the sun is overhead, time for sunset and a time for the Moon to replace the Sun in the sky. Similarly, our satellite orbits the Earth in about 28 days. During this time, the Moon passes through different phases. Thus, there is a full moon time and a time of new moon. Finally, the Earth takes 12 months to complete one orbit around the sun. And in its translation around our star, the planet comes a time when flowers grow, a time when it’s hot, a time where tree leaves fall and a time when it’s cold.

The whole of all creation by God keeps perfect harmony. And everything will happen at the right time, as our divine designer established it. When the time of pregnancy is done, it is every human being birth. When our time is fulfilled in this world, we will be leaving from it. The day we are born not always can be set in advance, but anyway, at the time will be known. However, the day and the hour of our departure are not possible to determine, only God knows that. However, out of time in earthly terms referred on Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 there is an infinite time when everyone will go to stop and there are only two destinations to which they go. One of these locations is of salvation and the other of perdition. The time to choose salvation is today because we never know how much time we have left in this world. God bless you.
