The Futility of Resisting Before God

You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Romans 9:19-21

I think everyone has happened to us once in our life that we angry with God. For some it is because they have not received what they expected, others because they have lost a loved one and a few more that are not in accordance with what they have. In each case, it is so common to hear the complaint to God why this event happened we do not like or hurts us.

I have a neighbor who claims to be agnostic to refer to not believe in God. I’m always talking about God’s Word despite his systematic rejection. Once his mother-in-law visited him and we were sharing a while in his house and the theme of God was inevitable. Then his mother-in-law proved to be more atheistic than the son-in-law as she questioned His existence because she had lost her husband and two sons and she did not see God anywhere when her loved ones died.

As this case I have known many in which the people involved are wondering “where was God when I lost my father, my mother or my child?” “Where was God when I lost my job or I had an accident?” God was not absent when each of these things passed. And just so we asked why they occurred, often Heavenly Father had nothing to do with what happened. The other times He allows things to happen to be glorified bringing the solution on time.

God is certainly looking forward to get us closer to Him. Many of us spend years running from Him who continues His work to get closer. Few turn their eyes to God in good times. That is why many people go through trials before surrendering his or her life to the Lord. But anyway, the plan God has for each life will be fulfilled sooner or later.

I have a friend who says God is looking for you and He will have you anyway and that we have to choose how we want to meet Him, which is similar to having a meeting with the dentist with anesthesia or without anesthesia. What it means is that we have to accept God with or without trails. In conclusion, nothing helps us resisting our Father for His will in our lives will be fulfilled anyway. I think the best we can do with him is behaving in a loose way and cooperating.

It is written: Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20). He longs today for a personal meeting with you because His plan is to save you from the bondage of sin. It is useless for you to resist and also the main beneficiary of all this will be you. God without you continue being God; but you’ll be hopelessly lost without Him. The good news is that He does not want your bad but your eternal welfare. Instead of getting angry with Him gladly accept His call. God bless you.
