For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
I have noticed that many people have an image of weakness about the person of Jesus Christ and His gospel. These people displayed Jesus as a man carrying a cross, humiliated, insulted and killed cruelly without offering any resistance. However, that same Jesus who gave His life on the cross was who three days later rose from the dead. That same Jesus is who will come again crowned with great power.
That perception of weakness in the popular belief is extended to Christians throughout history. I have seen that there are people who imagine a Christian turning the other cheek to be hit. O let them be martyred mercilessly, which has not been limited to the early church, but every day many Christians are persecuted and killed in many parts of the world. And people see as normal that Christians are treated in such a way because they are so weak that they cannot defend themselves.
The truth is quite another. Turn the other cheek or permit to be executed rather than deny the faith in Jesus Christ, in any way constitute proof of weakness. As Paul rightly said to the Romans, the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Even death for Christ’s sake and the gospel does not mean a defeat for the sake of the Kingdom of God. If we are in Christ, both live and die happen to be in profit. If we live we do for Him and if we die we will go with Him and come a time when we will rise according to His promise.
The modern world has sought to silence the voice of Christians. They want to keep silent and not to rule the name of Jesus Christ to not offend those who disbelieve in Him. In this sense, some believers have fallen into the trap if you cannot beat your enemies, join them and thus there are those who today preach a gospel so diluted that as a preacher said, if poison does not kill anyone and if medicine does not cure anyone.
Undoubtedly, Jesus Christ, as man, has been the main figure in the history of mankind. The calendar effect in the world is counted according to His life and history is divided into before and after Him. Whether this or that country does not believe in Jesus, without exception they accept that we are in the XXI century of Christ. That fact alone would be enough to recognize the greatness of His figure. However, Jesus was not a mere mortal like us, but the very embodiment of the living God and who was raised from the dead as no one else has.
If you believe in Jesus Christ, do not be ashamed to express it. Do not feel less than anyone else because you’re a Christian. You are not a second class citizen because you are a servant of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Boldly preach the gospel of power that saves us from eternal death to those who believe, that releasing the captives and giving sight to the blind because that gospel has the power of God for salvation. God bless you.
