Asking Wisdom with Faith

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

James 1:5-8

Every time we read the letter of James we see a wakeup call for our lives as Christians. And you probably feel that God pulls us ears to read Bible passages similar to James 1: 5-8. But what we should do instead of bothering or being offended is to see the wise instruction that guides us to do things the way God wants us to act, conscious that the greatest benefit will be for ourselves.

There is a biblical figure that draws much attention so he asked God: King Solomon. The son and successor of King David asked for wisdom rather than anything else when was beginning his reign. Solomon’s request was pleasing to God, who also gave him great wisdom fame, fortune and peace during his rule over the people of Israel.

In Hosea 4:6 is written: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Every day many people make serious mistakes in their life by lack of knowledge or having little wisdom. The Bible shows very clearly that wisdom is a gift from God, that He is willing to give generously and without reproach to anyone who asks in faith.

There are many people who every day stand before God in prayer with a long list of demands. The most common requests include: money, a job, find a partner, be happy, health, restoring broken relationships, among others. However, the vast majority of people omits asking the most importantly wisdom. Having money and lack of wisdom is a safe way to misuse. The same can say that broken relationships are harder to reset if it lacks wisdom.

The Bible repeats several times that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. This ensures that the gift of God-given wisdom is accompanied by subjection to His guidance in our entire decision making. This definitely gives us a guarantee of success in everything we do as undoubtedly He is much wiser than any human being who ever lived.

Let us ask for wisdom and let do it with faith without doubt is nest in our hearts. Doubt is the opposite of faith. Therefore, if we need faith to please God, doubt will operate in reverse. Then, if the Lord is displeased by doubt, whatsoever we ask hesitating we never will get. Do not let our lives perish for lack of knowledge because Heavenly Father is willing to grant it if we ask in faith. God bless you.
