So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Everything in life has a primary source that sustains it. The fruits and vegetables we eat come from plants that were originally a germinated seed which grew and bore fruit. Spiritual things also have an origin. In Romans 10:17, the apostle Paul tells us that faith comes from hearing the Word of God.
The world tells us that we have to see to believe. However, faith tells us that if we do not believe we won’t see. This is not the view but in a different sense: hearing. If we base our beliefs solely on what we see, is likely to fall into the trap. Things are not always as they apparently see. An example is found in a desert mirage, which appears to be water; but it is not. Today I invite you to strengthen your faith by listening to what God’s Word says.
We develop faith by hearing the Word of God, which enables us to live righteously, as Habakkuk 2:4 says: Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith. Then walk through life protected by faith, not what we say our eyes, as stated 2 Corinthians 5:7: For we walk by faith, not by sight. And walking in faith we please God: But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11: 6).
God works in us according to our faith, as we see in Matthew 9:29: Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you”. The blind recovered sight by faith, which not only heals us, but also saves us: Jesus turned and saw the woman and said, “Be encouraged [Have courage; Take heart], ·dear woman [daughter]. ·You are made well because you believed [Your faith has saved/healed you].” And the woman was ·healed [made well; saved] from that moment on (Matthew 9:22, EXB). And that faith enables us to receive forgiveness of our sins: to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me (Acts 26:18).
We are justified by faith: since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith (Romans 3:30). For by faith we have peace with God: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2).
Faith makes us children of God: For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26). And by faith we receive the Holy Spirit: This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (Galatians 3:2). So faith preserves our soul: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul (Hebrews 10:39). For faith overcomes the world: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith (1 John 5:4). God bless you.
