If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Mankind goes through very difficult times. Although for some there is some sense of wellbeing, things are not as good as they look. Our planet is sick. Global warming is no longer mere speculation. Year after year, climate changes are felt. On the other hand, there is latent threat of extremist groups from taking power by force and impose their ideas. Given all the uncertainties we face, what God expects us to do is to humble ourselves before Him. Only then, He will answer our favor.
Several years ago, Jonathan Cahn published the book “The Harbinger” which became a bestseller in the United States. This book presents a history as a narrative form about ancient mystery that holds the secret world of the future. The key to the whole book focuses on Isaiah 9:10: The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.
In the book of Jonathan Cahn, he gives parallels between that prophecy given to the kingdom of Israel and the United States today. However the warning God wants us today is not limited to the 10 tribes that were separated from the rest of the people of God after the death of King Solomon or the great nation of America, but to all mankind, for each country, each village for the entire Earth.
The nature tells us every day warning calls that we have abandoned the path that leads to God to follow one of doom. Tropical cyclones are now more frequent and destructive. In many places on earth earthquakes occur and volcanoes erupt. In temperate regions, winters are becoming more stringent with impressive snowfall. Large areas are suffering from drought, like California, while flooding occurs in the desert regions of northern Chile. In short, the planet’s climate is completely crazy.
If to all this we add the increasingly frequent terrorist attacks in different parts of the world, social and moral degeneration, government corruption, among others, the outlook is bleak. Although we do not want to admit, every evil that plagues mankind is a warning to us to change our course. What is our response to God to such warnings? Just what it says Isaiah 9:10 faced the situation with a challenge and everyone sees it as something very logical and natural.
However, the response God expects of us is just the opposite. It is just what it says 2 Chronicles 7:14: humble ourselves before Him, prayer, seek His face and repent of our wrongdoing. Only then God will heal our Earth. Hear His voice alert and take action. Let the pride and defiance that lead us to total ruin and fully trust His Word. God bless you.
