And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus teaches the familiar parable of the sower whose seed fell in different places: by the wayside, on rocky ground, among thorns and good soil. Let’s talk a little about the seed that fell on the road, as they say Matthew 13:4, Mark 4:4 and Luke 8:5. Jesus himself told his disciples the meaning of this parable, which is in the same gospels mentioned above.
Personally, I like this explanation seed fall by the wayside: Those along the traveled road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and carries away the message out of their hearts, that they may not believe (acknowledge Me as their Savior and devote themselves to Me) and be saved [here and hereafter] [Luke 8:12 (AMP)].
Perhaps you, friend who hear or read this message, you have been for many years as the seed that fell by the wayside, which was eaten by birds before it germinates and produces fruit. I confess that I was one of those for most of my life. Many people, in various cities and countries sowed in me the seed of the Word of God, while I was just a dirt road hardened incapable of receiving the good seed saving.
I resisted for years to receive the good news of salvation using as excuses religious traditions, scientific insights, shame, lack of time, etc. I not really recognized that the bird which ate the seed trying to sow in my heart had a name: Satan, devil, demon or whatever you prefer to call him. If he stole my seed for many years, it is possible that he is also doing the same to you at this time.
Now I want to tell the good news: you do not feel fear at the name of that enemy that you just identified as the thief of your seed. You may think: God, what enemy I have. Fear not, I present what the Scripture says about it: By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4: 2-4).
God’s desire is that any should not perish but that every human being reaches the salvation of his or her soul. Today He is knocking at the door of your heart. No matter that for years you have fled to this call because the enemy has been stealing the Word. Today God has done for you to break your chains. Listens and accepts the Word and stop being like the seed that fell by the wayside. God bless you.
