Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God”.
Never stop to consider that God keeps our roads and such we must ask Him every day, as did Jacob when he left his parents’ home. We must put God in front of our daily walk because He knows best what suits us and what we need. Jacob got what he asked God and was grateful for it: Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone. (Genesis 35:3).
God expects us to recognize that His hand has wrought in our lives keeping our way. That’s why our grateful heart to honor God, as did Jacob with their offerings. Now, we must say that our offerings and sacrifices for God cannot be seen as a way to buy His favor. God loves us and gives us grace whatever we ask in faith, as told Matthew 7:7: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Our offerings to God are proof that we reciprocate His love and His forgiveness it is something we must do it with joy, as it tells us 2 Corinthians 9:7: So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. The widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:9-16) is an example of a cheerful giver. She believed the words that God had given her through the prophet Elijah and what seemed impossible happened.
Walk for life is not easy for anyone, and everything becomes more difficult when our forces are insufficient to sustain. In addition, it is inevitable move to places where danger lurks. But if we entrust ourselves to God, He keeps our way and deliver us from evil. If it happened to you, you do not think you’re the only person in this world who has gone through difficult situations. All we have had! No one is exempt from suffering setbacks.
It is time to face our walk through life with a different attitude. Instead of living lamenting the problems, we pray that He keeps our way. As our Father, God will respond positively to our prayer because His desire is best for us. But much eye, the best thing for us is not always what we think. We may be wrong longing for something that hurts us. And obviously, God will not grant that wish to harm us. And when God has saved our way, we are grateful to Him. Let’s give Him the honor He deserves and the recognition that without Him saving our way would be lost. We offer gifts to the Father, as did Jacob. There always has to be in material things as most offering He expects is our heart. God bless you.
