There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18
How sad it is to see God’s children live in fear! They are Christians knowing they are saved, they have received forgiveness and love of God, but when they are in the midst of trials feel the same fear that people in the world suffer under the same circumstances. If we are the light of the world and salt of the Earth, then our attitude to adversity should be different from those who have not yet met the love of our Heavenly Father.
When we understand the greatness of God’s love toward us, then we can leave out the fear of any adverse circumstance that comes our way. The most famous verse in the Bible is John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. In John 3:16 the magnitude of God’s love for us is summarized. Out of love, God sent His Son to die on a cross for you and me.
If we know that God loves us, we should understand that He will take care of every one of His children whom He loves. We must also understand who God is. Says Psalm 66:3: Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.” The power of God has no limits; therefore, no one and nothing can against Him. That makes those who are under His divine protection should not fear to suffer any damage.
God loves us and is with us, then, what we fear? It is impossible for something or someone surpassing God s in strength and power. Romans 8:31 says: What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Almighty God is our Father and loves us that we understand very well. While under His protection and care, there are no power in the natural world or in the spiritual that can against Him and, consequently, against us that we are His children.
By His love, God has not given us fear. In 2 Timothy 1:7 says: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. If we are God’s children, we have His Spirit dwelling in us; we don’t have the spirit of fear within us, but the powerful Holy Spirit, who gives us His gifts and His fruit. If you are a son or a daughter of God, please, do not be timid but brave and walk being sure that your Father is with you all the time.
If for any time you think you might lose the love of God, look what the apostle Paul says in Romans 8:38-39: For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, with the security of having the love of God, let us walk confident through our life without fear. His great love perfects us and casts out fear involves punishment. God bless you.
