There Will Be a Judgment

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Hebrews 9:27-28

The word judgment is not pleasant for anyone. We imagine when we hear a court, judge, prosecutor, lawyers, jurors, prosecution, fines, jail, guilty and sentence. Unless one is a lawyer who makes a living in the courts, it is not pleasant to be in court, much less whether we are in the dock. And while many humans never have to set foot on an Earth court, none of us will escape judgment by dying.

John Charles Ryle (1816-1900), nineteenth century English clergyman said: “Be sure of this, people never reject the Bible because they cannot understand. They understand it too well; they understand that it condemns their own behavior; they understand that it testifies against their own sins, and summons them to judgment” While the American evangelist Bill Bright (1921-2003) said. “Jesus spent most of His time warning His listeners about the impending judgment of hell than talking about the joys of heaven.”

An example of what it says Bill Bright is in Matthew 12:36: But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment. Here the Lord makes clear two things. First there would be a judgment and second that we will be accountable for everything we have said. Of course, if we give account of the words we said, all the more so we will have to answer for our actions on the Day of Judgment.

Many people are not convinced by what it says Matthew 12:36. That does not help at all to prevent further damage to them. The apostle Paul says in Romans 2:5: But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God. In the verses following Romans 2: 5, Paul clearly says that we will be judged and pay according to our works. Which will further said the corresponding prize and the punishment.

In Revelation 14:6-7 we are also warned about the judgment:  Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

Believe it or not, it certainly will be a judgment for every human being. Are you prepared to leave not guilty at judgment? Through our work, guilt is inevitable. Therefore, the exit should be another. 1 John 4:17 says: Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. Trust in His plan of salvation. God bless you.
