We Must Believe in Jesus

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

John 3:18

Believing in Jesus is the only guarantee we have that we will not be condemned on the Day of Judgment. The Law of God shows us clearly that we have all sinned and are guilty before Him. The wages of sin is death and our final destiny would be hell unless we believe in the only begotten Son of God. Therefore, we must believe in Jesus and put all our faith and trust in Him. By believing in Him, we give Him permission to conduct our lives to the Father.

There are so many benefits of believing in Jesus Christ that the best way to know them is to see what Scripture says about itself. John 12:46 says: I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. Believing in Jesus, we leave the darkness of sin to live under His marvelous light. Until we believe in Him, we remain wedded to the traditions, beliefs tied to malicious touts the world and immersed in our own convictions.

Believing in Jesus empowers us to do the works He did, as expressed in John 14:12: Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. The Lord spoke of the signs will follow those who believe, which include cast out demons, heal the sick, speak new languages and have protection against damage. During His earthly ministry, the Lord did many miracles and promised that those who believe in Him also will do.

The Lord promised that those who believe in him will not thirst, as John 6:35 says: Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Also to sprout them rivers of living water, as John 7:38 says: Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. And in 1 John 5:10 reads: Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.

Believing in Jesus is not eternally die is to live while dead and resurrected in the last day. As the Scripture says:  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;  and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11: 25-26). And in John 6:40: And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Believing in Jesus gives salvation for us and ours, as Acts 16:31: So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And though salvation we have eternal life, as John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And we are children of God, according to John 1:12: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

And when we believe in Jesus, we are born again of God himself, as 1 John 5:1 says: Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. God bless you.
