Not as Blind as Those Who Will Not See

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

No need to be a rocket scientist to understand the Word of God. If it were not, most of mankind would be excluded from the scope of knowledge of God. The gospel is hidden and concealed only to those who are perishing for having blinded their mind. And it is not for lacking of sufficient human intelligence, many people whose IQ is quite high they are incredulous. They are not blind to the truth of Christ because they have no vision, but because they have succumbed to the father of lies.

The gospel message is extremely simple and easy to understand when we are led by the Holy Spirit. However, when we decided to apply logic and human reason, we find it virtually impossible to see the truth. Let’s summarize what the Bible salvation is. All human beings have sinned against God and are excluded from His presence. Only we are justified, that is, declared righteous, through faith in Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross of Calvary for our redemption.

According to Romans 3:23-26: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Salvation is of grace, reconciliation, propitiation, redemption and justification. By grace, the sinner stands before God as a debtor; but he does not get what he deserves. Instead of being punished for his crimes and sins he is forgiven and declared acquitted. Reconciliation is a junction where two who were separated are now together again. Sin separates man from God, but Christ reconciles us to Him.

The sinner stands before God as an enemy, but receives peace. Jesus with His blood paid the price of sin and, once the price is paid, God accepts us and we stopped being enemies. Romans 5:1-2 says: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The just demand of God’s wrath against the sinner was satisfied by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. That is the propitiation. Through the redemption, the sinner stands before God as a slave of sin; but he receives his freedom to be rescued because Jesus Christ paid the price with his blood. Romans 6:22 says: But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

Finally, with justification, the sinner is before God and he is accused and convicted of being a sinner; but what God declares blameless because Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins with His own blood. It boils down to that Jesus Christ died for your sins and mine and we are justified by faith in Him. Do not follow allowing the enemy to blind your mind, open your spiritual eyes and see the cross that has saved you. God bless you.
