For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2
In 2 Corinthians 6: 2, Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8: Thus says the Lord: In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages. The day of your salvation is not tomorrow or in two weeks or when you reach old age. Today is the day of your salvation because God has prepared especially for you.
King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 3:1: To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. An example is the time of birth of each human being, which will occur not when decided by the mother or the doctors who care for her, but just when designed by God. The same applies to the time of death. You may say that your days are numbered; but if you have not your time, this prediction will be wrong.
On December 31, 1987 I worked half a day in the cement factory which I served as manager of quality control. As was my custom, I first passed by the house of my mother before reaching mine. I came to my mother and she had served me lunch when my brother asked me if I had seen my wife. His question surprised me because he knew I had not gone through my house. When I said no, he told me that my wife was in the hospital with threatened abortion.
When I heard my brother that my wife was in the hospital, I left my lunch on the table and told him to bring me immediately to the hospital where she was. Needless to say I expected the New Year in the hospital. It was not supposed that she gave birth to the time it even she was not 7 months pregnant. It spent the holiday Friday January 1, 1988 and she continued in the same state, without any progress.
On Saturday January 2 I had to work half a day and when I finished my work I went back to the hospital. I did not like at all the doctor’s face. Around 7 pm he left my wife room and told to a nurse: “Prepare the room.” At 8:30 pm, the doctor came out and said: “Congratulations, it was a girl; we’ll keep her in an incubator for several weeks.” My daughter Vivian was ahead born almost three months early. Exactly 25 years later, history repeated itself in my oldest son when my grandson was born.
And just as God ordained the birth of my daughter Vivian as a surprise on January 2, 1988 and my grandson Ivan Jr. was born on January 2, 2013, He has arranged a special day for your salvation. And you know what, that day is today! Today is the day God has reserved for you to be born again of water and the Spirit. Today is the day God has arranged for you to become a new creature. It was not yesterday and will not be tomorrow, today is your day and your name will be inscribed in the Book of Life. As parents we do when we feast and celebrate a child was born, Heavenly Father today will make a party in your honor in heaven.
The Bible clearly explains the procedure to follow to be saved. Our works are useless to justify; but Jesus took our place paying for the sins we committed. Salvation is by grace, repenting of our sins and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Do it now, this is your day! God bless you.
