For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
The Word of God always fulfills its purpose at the perfect time. In this age in which we live very quickly, sometimes we despair to see that God’s promises are not being met at the speed we want. But the seed of the Word of God that has been sown will germinate without a doubt. Isaiah 55:10-11 affirms it, and if God says is the truth because He does not lie. God’s timing is perfect, neither forward nor delayed. Therefore, the fulfillment of His Word will come at the right time.
I myself am a living example of the truth of Isaiah 55:10-11. Since my teens, there was always someone sowing the Word of God in my life and, although see the fruit took 30 years to sprout, finally the Word did not return void, but it did what He wanted to do with me and was fully prosper in the which He sent it. These daily messages I share with people around the world are the best proof of compliance with that word.
Many people sowed the seed of the Word of God in me for 30 years in three different countries. It is impossible to name all those people, so I will only discuss a couple of them. One such person was Melissa, a Mexico-American who was my hairdresser while living in San Antonio, Texas. She always told me, “Jesus loves you” as she cut my hair. When I met the Lord in Florida, on my return to Texas, the first thing I did was going to cut my hair where Melissa and I gave her my testimony. She was filled with joy and praised God.
In late April 2009, my mother went with the Lord. Because of that I went to my hometown in the Dominican Republic and there I met several childhood friends. Among them was Victor, who had given his life to Jesus Christ since he was a teenager like many other boys and girls in my neighborhood, including, of course I was not. Victor asked me if I had seen my cousin Glenys, another youth who had surrendered to the Lord three decades ago, I said no. And he told me she wanted to talk to me.
I continued walking around the city without paying much attention to what Victor had said. My two daughters went with me and they told me to take them to fix their hair. So I did and while waiting, Victor passed by that place and asked me the same question. As I said again that I had not seen my cousin, he said: “Come, she lives five houses from here and we can walk there.” So we did.
My cousin was very happy to see me after almost 20 years and told me she had heard that I became a Christian. I told her my story with much enthusiasm as she listened smiling. At the end of my testimony, she told me: “Since I became to Jesus Christ, you were the first person that the Lord brought to my mind. 30 years I’ve been praying for your salvation.” I was speechless before her to see God’s faithfulness.
If you’ve spent years praying for the salvation of your loved ones without seeing results, do not give up. There is a promise from the Lord that by believing in Him you and your family will be saved. God’s Word never returns void and bear fruit at the right time, not before or after. I have seen in my own life and I’m sure you also see in yours. God bless you.
