“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Agree on something has a great advantage. When two people or groups of people agree, there is no conflict and both sides will work towards a common goal. Agreeing is easier to achieve the objective. In the spiritual world, agree also has the same advantages. As says Matthew 18:19-20, when two or more pray for the same cause, God will respond favorably. But most important of all is that as we gather in the name of Jesus, He has promised to be in our midst.
I’ve always said to agree is like two people rowing a boat in the same direction, while the disagreement occurs when each of those people rowing the boat toward opposite directions. He rowed in the same direction will result in the boat will reach the other shore. However, when both paddle to opposite directions, the boat is not going anywhere but stays in the same place. It’s like not being able to get out of a vicious circle.
In history there are many examples of what it means to agree, the same applies to cases where the agreement was not reached. European empires established numerous colonies in the Americas, which remained for several centuries. Spanish and British came to have the greatest number of them. In North America, the British had 13 colonies, which were not homogeneous; but when these colonies rebelled against the metropolis, to achieve independence, they reached an agreement to stay together and formed the great nation we know today as the United States of America.
Instead, the Spanish colonies did not reach the same agreement and eventually all efforts to create a Spanish-speaking nation in America were frustrated. The dream of Simon Bolivar with the Great Colombia ended in separation from it. The same thing happened in Central America, while the Antillean Confederation not even tried, leaving only the dream of some idealistic Cubans, Dominicans and Puerto Ricans. The final result of the Spanish-American disagreement was poorer than its northern counterpart and eternal conflicts between nations themselves.
The things of the natural world learn lessons that are very useful in the spiritual world. Agreeing to the natural has advantages and we have seen in the example of the American continent. Agree to pray it is what the Lord says that works: if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. He says that whatever we ask agreeing will be made by the Father.
Heavenly Father wants to give us the best things. He is waiting for us to come with faith and unity to His throne and ask Him in prayer. As the best of parents, He responds on behalf of His children. Let us support each other in prayer, let us agree when we pray and we will open the windows of heaven into blessings. God bless you.
