And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Many times we complain about the things we lack. And we cannot deny that many lack even essential elements to survive. Even those who possess great material fortunes, sometimes do not have a good health or face the lack of genuine affection. The lack of what is necessary has no preference and can affect the same to rich as poor or to believers or unbelievers. Those who have believed in God must keep in mind that He is our Father and, as such, He has taken the responsibility to supply us with all that we lack.
In Philippians 4:19 we see the promise that God will supply us all and in the next verse we see that God’s fatherhood towards us leads him to be our provider. Philippians 4:20 says, Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. What parent does not feel committed to supplying all things to their children? If a human father has obligations to his children, God, like the model of Father par excellence, will never leave his children helpless.
But not all men who are parents supply all things to their children. I will not speak of those who, having the means, avoid their responsibility, but of the many parents who cannot always supply everything to their children for lack of jobs or because their income is not enough. Will God need anything to supply His children? Job 41:11 says, Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine. Everything that exists belongs to God.
And among all that exists and belongs to God are the material goods. Haggai 2:8 says, ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. Being God, our Father, the owner of everything, including gold and silver, will God allow His children to lack what they need for their sustenance? Absolutely not, it is His promise to supply all our needs and that nothing will fail us, as Psalm 23:1 says, The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. And when God says he will supply everything, it is everything, just as when He says that we will not lack anything, it is nothing.
God is a provider God and one of His names is Jehovah Jireh, which means the Lord will provide, as Genesis 22:14 says, And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”. Then we cannot have doubts that what we need will be supplied by our God and Father, who is the absolute owner of everything that exists.
As the owner of everything, God can give us what He pleases. Now, He is not obliged to please our whims. If there is a car among our needs, God can provide it for us. Of that I know, I have received two as a gift. But if you crave a Ferrari, maybe what you get was not what you expected. The important thing is that He will supply your need in the way you understand is the best for you.
Given that we have a Father in heaven who supplies everything we need, we can live by resting in Him that He will fulfill His promises all the time. Even in our most miserable moments, our Father will be at our side and will provide us to cover each and every one of our needs without missing a single one without being satisfied. He loves us, everything is His and He is always faithful. God bless you.
