He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
The Bible states very clearly that God does not intend us to seek Him through religions, but His purpose is to establish a personal relationship with each man and woman. From Genesis to Revelation, all Scripture is emphatic in conveying that message. It has been the human being himself who has invented complicated formulas to try to win the sympathy of the Supreme Being. And as we labor in vain to comply with religious rules, God simply tells us: He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
It’s painful to see so many people get lost in something so simple. Many do not dare open the Bible and read it because they say it is too complicated and they do not understand it. Those who say such things are ignorant of the nature of God. The Lord, who does not want anyone to be lost but everyone has the same access to His plan of salvation, was not going to leave a written book so that only scholars or space scientists could understand it. If this were the case, normal and simple people would be excluded and their eternal destiny would be perpetual perdition.
The divine plan does not contemplate the use of numerous intermediaries as presented by religious traditions. Let’s read the Bible and check that instead of getting angry when someone, like me right now, defies traditions. In 1 Timothy 2:5-6 we read, For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. As you can see, the only mediator between God and men is Jesus Christ, it is nobody else.
And through Jesus Christ we become children of God, as John 1:12 says, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. And what about the children? Let us see what Romans 8:17 says, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. The relationship God wants with each human being is one in which we are His children and His heirs.
God promised Abraham in the Old Testament that his children would inherit a land flowing with milk and honey. Galatians 3:29 says, And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Therefore, as Revelation 21:7 says that we will inherit all things, through Jesus Christ, not only do we inherit the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father but, as we become the lineage of Abraham, we are also heirs to the promise given to his offspring.
It is important to point out an key fact: we are not heirs of all things because we have been good, but because God is good. In Titus 3:4-7 we read, But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Let us not lose our inheritance. God bless you.
