All Is to the Praise of His Glory

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 1:11-14

When we realize that God grants us much more than we deserve, praise to Him becomes natural. Although we believe we are good, we certainly are not. Our sin makes us outlaws before God and that makes us guilty in the face of a divine judgment. Only the grace of God condones our debt, and if something good comes out of us it is for His glory. Therefore, we must thank Him daily for the grace, this undeserved favor of saving us and praising His glory shed in us.

I’ve heard people say that they deserve better luck when things do not go the way they want. Some even blame God for their adverse situations. In truth, God is not responsible for our problems or for the world to walk on its feet. The cause of individual and collective evils is sin, and of that, no one can declare himself innocent. And concerning sin, Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Then, if we deserve something by nature, it is to pay for our sins, and just condemnation for sin is death. If we do not die for our sins, it is because God gave us forgiveness, it was His grace, and it was His glory that lifted Jesus from the dead giving us the same hope of resurrection. Therefore, we deserve nothing, we are not worthy to be exalted but to suffer the greatest humiliation; But God has been merciful to us, so only He deserves to be praised, only He deserves glory and honor.

Let us not complain of our fate feeling that we are treated unjustly. If God’s justice were applied to us as it should be, no one would be saved from eternal damnation. The best thing we can do each day is to rise up praising our God and Father of glory, who has made us partakers of belonging to His family through our redemption through the blood of His Beloved Son Jesus Christ. May our salvation be to the praise of His glory in each day of those who are left to live and then in eternity with Him.

It does not matter if our walk in this world is a constant suffering. Let us remember Paul who, despite consecrating himself to the service of God, suffered persecution, beatings, imprisonment and many other tribulations until he was finally executed by the name of Jesus. In spite of all his sufferings, Paul was able to raise his praise to Almighty God in the midst of his prison, and not only were his chains broken, but his deliverance served for his jailer to obtain salvation and eternal life.

Circumstances do not direct our course. Let us walk with reverence and honor to who has saved us from everlasting punishment. Let us fill our lips with praise to Him, instead of filling them with complaints. May all that we do be to the praise of His glory. God bless you.
