Wars and Rumors of Wars

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Matthew 24:6

The second sign before the end is in Matthew 24:6: And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. There are active conflicts in various parts of the world. In addition to rumors of wars in others. Some of these rumors of wars, if materialized, are frightening to many people because they would involve the potential use of nuclear weapons. The Lord tells us to remain calm in the face of wars and rumors of war because both must happen before the end.

At present, the main active war fronts are concentrated in Africa and the Middle East, but the threat of wars looms anywhere on earth. A new form of war keeps all humanity in check: terrorism. The places where terrorists operate and the weapons they use make all citizens of the world unsafe. From using planes to crash buildings in New York to using an ax on German trains or a truck in the streets of France, everything is a deadly weapon in the hands of terrorists.

The worst rumors of wars go beyond fearing that soulless terrorists will sweep innocent lives into a market or a stadium. There is a real risk that nuclear-armed powers will face each other. On the one hand, the development of weapons of mass destruction by North Korea is of concern. It is not ruled out that this country fulfills its threats and attacks its neighbor to the South or to Japan. But it is not ruinous that the United States initiates a nuclear attack against North Korea, as a preventive measure.

In either scenario, there is a likelihood that both China and Russia will be involved, taking into account that both nations have borders with North Korea. On the other hand, there are tensions between these two nuclear superpowers and the United States that could lead to a war of fatal consequences. China insists on its claims in the South China Sea and the East China Sea. In both cases, the interests of allied countries of the United States are threatened.

In the case of Russia, the US media are campaigning that this Eurasian country threatens to invade US allies in Europe. There is great tension, especially in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, where military exercises have been carried out to prevent Russians from invading Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland or Ukraine. The truth is that such exercises are done in the noses of the Russians, who obviously see it as a provocation.

Finally, there is always the rumor of a war in which Israel is involved. We cannot overlook that the people of God are surrounded by enemies. It is public knowledge that thousands of missiles are aimed at Israel from various territories and can at any time be fired. That would be answered firmly by the Israeli armed forces, which could lead to a large-scale war. Christians should be alert to wars and rumors of wars, especially those that affect Israel. But, in no time we should lose the calm. God bless you.

Many Will Come in His Name

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”

Matthew 24:4-5

The first sign before the end is indicated by the Lord in Matthew 24:4-5: Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. That sign has begun to be manifested since individuals have appeared that they are the Christ. Probably the number of people deceived still is not very numerous; but no doubt that, as the day of our Lord’s return draws nearer, many more false Christs will appear.

In the Hispanic world, perhaps the most well-known false Christ is Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on April 22, 1946, he was a religious preacher and entrepreneur based in Miami, United States. He was known with the alias of Apostle, Doctor, Dad, God, and especially Jesus Christ Man and Papi. De Jesus was the founder and leader of the Creciendo en Gracia (Growing in Grace) religious sect, based in Miami, Florida. He claimed to be both resurrected Jesus Christ and the antichrist, and displayed a tattoo with the number 666 on his forearm.

De Jesus was raised in the poverty of the streets of Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of Antonio De Jesus and Ana Luisa Miranda. He said that during his adolescence he became addicted to heroin at age 14 and was arrested for robbery on several occasions. In his youth he tried different religions: Catholicism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Adventism and finally Pentecostalism. In 1986 he founded his church in Puerto Rico, although years later moved his headquarters to Miami. At first he referred to himself as “man Christ Jesus.”

In early 2007 he claimed that he was the antichrist. He said the term is appropriate, because people should no longer follow the “Jewish teachings” of Jesus of Nazareth, but rather follow the teachings of the apostle Paul allegedly manifested through De Jesus. According to him, “antichrist” means “not following the Jesus of Nazareth who lived in the days of His flesh.” His followers were tattooed on their bodies with the symbol 666. Jesus said that 666 is not a sign of the devil, is the number of the Antichrist. They also tattooed the letters SSS, which represent the motto of their sect “Saved Always Saved” (Salvo Siempre Salvo, is Spanish).

After the death of De Jesus, on November 16, 2013, the “Growing in Grace” sect is renamed “King of Salem” and a new “dispensation” has been presented in which his wife, who now calls herself “Christ Lisbeth,” “the reincarnation of the archangel Michael” and the “mother Jerusalem” is the new goddess. The sect now claims that those who believed that De Jesus Miranda would not die fell into a deceptive power sent to them by the same “god” José Luis De Jesus Miranda, who could fall into a “seduction that he took in his flesh” and that now the new truth is with his consort mother Lisbeth.

As we pass into the countdown of the glorious coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, the number of false Christs will increase. Let us be alert so that we are not part of the deceived group. Let us hearken more to what the Word of God says than to what we hear say to “prophets” and “apostles” of these times. The Bible is the only truth. God bless you.

The End of the Age

So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 13:49-50

There are people who spend their lives acting in ways that do not seem to have to be accountable to God. We are not eternal and someday we will leave this world. But the world we know is not eternal either and someday its extinction will also come. After the end of the age, as Matthew 13:49-50 says, the righteous will be separated from the wicked. The fate that awaits the latter is described in this way: and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Most people cling to this world and its things. It is unlikely that we will find someone who does not fear dying or losing what they own. The natural tendency is to cling to life, family, property and the place where we live. And when things are not going well, such as health problems, domestic conflicts, natural disasters or threats of nuclear war, even atheists react by asking for prayer for God to fix things. They do not want to see the things they know and love disappear.

Although humanity unanimously agreed that the world we know is eternal, God’s plan is different and will not change it in any way. It is written that heaven and earth will pass away and the only thing that is eternal is the Holy Word of God, which will be fulfilled in the time predicted by Him. It is written in Mark 13:31, Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Therefore, to ask God to change His mind and leaving the world like that, is to completely ignore God Himself.

In Genesis 1:1 we read, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God found that all His creation was good and can expect nothing other than that, coming from a good and perfect God. However, after the fall of our first parents with original sin, our world changed completely. Genesis 3:17 says, Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’”: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.”

The earth is cursed because of sin. That was not God’s original plan with humanity but to have an intimate and close relationship with us. A Holy God is incompatible with sin. Man not only sinned against God, but gave to the devil what God had given him, that is, the dominion over the earth. At this moment, the world we know is cursed and under the power of the wicked one. To recover God’s original design, a simple patch of this world is not enough. You have to do everything new!

Sometimes the buildings are so deteriorated that it becomes necessary to demolish them to give way to the construction of something totally new. That is just what God will do, there will be an end of the age, an end to the earth and the heavens we know. Then there will arise a new earth and new heavens where justice prevails. The Lord says that on that day the wicked will be separated from the righteous. Who are the righteous? Those who have believed in Jesus Christ have repented of their sins and accepted justification by grace through faith. The rest will remain in the group of the wicked, where we all were, and their fate will be eternal punishment. God bless you.

Those Who Stumble

The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 13:41-42

In the parable of the wheat and the tares, narrated in Matthew 13:24-30, the Lord tells us that the enemy would infiltrate his agents among the children of God. That prophetic parable has been fulfilled for two thousand years. If there was a Judas Iscariot among the twelve closest collaborators of Jesus, would the churches be free of traitors and false servants? Of course not. In fact, the churches are full of children of the bad, which are a stumbling block to the Kingdom of God. The end will come and those who are stumbling will receive their pay.

It is curious to see how many people get angry when one talks about these issues. Every time you bring up things like Matthew 13:41-42, there are those who quickly react by saying that we should not judge. To those who express themselves in this way I ask you, is exposing Scripture to judge? If this were true, then whoever judges them is the Word of God itself and not the one who delivers the message. Keep in mind that the Bible is not a buffet from which you take what you like while discarding the rest. All scripture has the same value.

The apostle Paul prophesied in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 that false doctrines would be preached, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. That is already happening and silence it, so that we are not branded that we are judging, is to be unfaithful to our beloved Lord Jesus Christ. Whoever preaches a false gospel is serving as a stumbling block to souls and leading them on a path of perdition.

He who feels judged must know that it is God’s own Word that judges him, not the servant who brings him the message. The great English preacher Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) said, “He who does not hate false doctrine is because he does not love the true one.” If when presenting biblical passages such as 2 Timothy 4:3-4 or Matthew 13:41- 42, you who are a preacher are offended, you feel alluded to, instead of meditating if your preaching is actually in accordance with sound doctrine or is adulterated, it is because perhaps you fall into the category that Spurgeon defines.

If we really are with Christ, we must preach what He preached, not expose fables. Another English preacher, John Charles Ryle (1816-1900) said, “We should no longer tolerate the false doctrine of what we would tolerate sin.” To accept or tolerate the false gospel is to become accomplices of lies and stumbling blocks In the Kingdom of God. If we do not tolerate sin, we must not tolerate false doctrine either, because it is a lying doctrine, which in itself constitutes sin.

Before you mark such messages of judgment to the anointed of God, I recommend that you review what the Lord said about those who stumble in His Kingdom: they will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I remind you that the lake of fire is hell, destined for the devil, his demons and those who make inequity. The end is near, the Lord returns and with Him His angels who will bring out of His Kingdom to the tares, the infiltrators, those who stumble the children of God, and will be forever confined to the place of torment. God bless you.

Hated by His Name

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:22

The true gospel speaks the truths unobtrusively. Jesus Christ never promised those who believed in Him that He would make them rich, happy and accepted by the whole world. On the contrary, he said things like these: And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. People do not love Christians but hate them. People do not accept Christians but reject them. People do not make life easy for Christians, but they make it difficult for them. So is it worth following Christ? I assure you that it is the only thing worth really in this life. And the Lord says it this way: he who endures to the end will be saved.

It could be that you became a Christian because someone told you that God had a wonderful plan for your life. Then you thought it was a good idea to accept Christ because then you would stop having problems. And you believed that as a Christian you were going to stop getting sick, you would prosper and everybody would like you. Unfortunately, when you became a Christian, you renounced the world and therefore the world was not going to see you as your friend, but you went to the opposite ranks. The world already sees you as an enemy and hates you.

Now you could put on a sad face saying that you screwed up to become a Christian because now people hate you. Before you try to go back, let me tell you something, would you like to know why we are hated for the name of Jesus Christ? Look what it says 1 John 5:19: We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. As a Christian, you belong to God, while those of the world belong to the devil, the wicked one. It is quite clear that whoever does not know Jesus Christ will hate you for His name’s sake.

If you are sad to stop being popular or that your friends do not give you a “like” to your Christian comments on Facebook, I say that now you are a child of God and your popularity in the heavens is such that your name is written there and all Angels know who you are. But if that does not please you because you still fear the enemy, I remind you of what the Word says in 1 John 4:4:  You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. A defeated devil cannot against a victorious Christ.

It is impossible to hide biblical truths. If you misunderstood the gospel and accepted Christ because you thought He would solve your earthly problems the day you opened the Bible, you would certainly read something similar to Matthew 10:22. Then you saw that all would hate you for the name of Jesus Christ. Perhaps you already realized before reading it in the Bible because your own family began to reject you from the same moment that you accepted Christ and that gave you much sadness.

We cannot deny that rejection is not pleasant, especially when it comes from the beings we love. But it is much more than we risk succumbing to the hatred of the world and going back to our previous life. Without Christ we are hopelessly lost. Our works do not serve to achieve salvation, only the precious blood shed by Jesus on the cross of Calvary could pay the price of our redemption. Remember the words of the Lord: he who endures to the end will be saved. Persevere to the end, even if they hate you. God bless you.

The Enemies in the House

Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

Matthew 10:21

The risk of being a Christian, in the midst of persecution, is not limited to strangers. We must take care of even the members of our own family. In Matthew 10:21, the Lord warns us: Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. Nothing of what is written in the Bible is a joke. This is not a heavy joke of the Lord, we must be alert and not astonished that, when the final persecution is openly unleashed, it is our own relatives who deliver us to death.

Traditions throw such strong roots in societies that sometimes outweigh blood ties. In countries like Pakistan it is very common what has come to be known as a crime of honor. This type of crime is mostly perpetrated with the women of the families. When a daughter departs from the guidelines of the Muslim faith, either by marrying for love, wearing western clothes or becoming a Christian, her brothers, and even her father and mother kill them with their own hands. Generally justice does not sanction them on the grounds that it is for honor.

For those of us who have lived in America, what happens in the East may seem wild and inhuman. But that is nothing compared to what is going to happen when the man of sin, the son of doom takes over the reins of the planet. It is very likely that in future, in our own countries we will see the new version of honor crimes. And that this type of behavior is a standard of world character, which is seen as something reasonable that happens for the well-being of the family.

It is written in Revelation 13:15-17: He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or[a] the name of the beast, or the number of his name. A true Christian will neither worship the image of the beast nor let it be marked.

But most likely there is no unanimity in the faith among the family of Christians. Therefore, some brother, father or son will prefer to adjust to the swings of the world so as not to have problems. If worshiping the beast’s image maintains his physical integrity, many will deny their faith in Jesus Christ. And that member of the family who remains faithful to the Lord is going to be denounced by his relative, who is going to prefer death to his son, brother or father rather than himself.

It sounds cruel, but that will happen without any doubt. And now some of you could be bothered by conscience. However, when the days of the ultimate manifestation of evil on earth come, such things will be interpreted as legal and politically correct. Are you afraid that that time comes? Would you join the rest to not die? Would you deny your faith or accept to be a martyr? The Lord said that he who loves his life will lose it and whoever loses it for His cause will preserve it for eternal life. You decide which life to love more, this or the eternal. God bless you.

Upcoming Persecutions

But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

Matthew 10:17-18

Being a soldier of Jesus Christ is a profession that carries risks. Bearing in mind that this world is still under the power of the evil one, it is obvious that worldly values conflict with the values of God. We are at war and the enemy will not stand idly by while we carry out our great commission. In Matthew 10:17-18, the Lord warned His disciples that they should take care of men because persecutions would follow. In these persecutions, there is the possibility of being imprisoned, mistreated or dead.

The fulfillment of the Lord’s prophetic word in Matthew 10:17-18 began from the earliest years of the church. The book of the Acts of the Apostles outlines the persecutions of the early Christians. Peter and John were imprisoned and beaten for preaching in the name of Jesus Christ. Stephen was the first Christian martyr to die stoned at the look of approval of a young Pharisee named Saul of Tarsus. After the death of Stephen, the persecution did not cease and the church was dispersed from Jerusalem to other places.

Saul of Tarsus himself, who witnessed Stephen’s death, wanted to become the most zealous persecutor of the Christians and set out for Damascus to capture those who believed in Jesus and bring them prisoners to Jerusalem. But on his way to Damascus, Saul had an encounter with the Lord who transformed his life. The rabid Pharisee Saul of Tarsus, persecutor and accomplice of the death of Christians, was transformed into Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, who traveled by numerous places expanding in gospel.

But the fruitful ministry of Paul was accompanied by many persecutions. The Lord himself warned him in Acts 9:15-16: But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” And certainly Paul suffered all kinds of abuse because of the name of Jesus Christ. And as a persecutor of Christians, Paul became one of the most persecuted among the servants of Christ.

The persecution of the Christians barely began with Peter, John, Stephen and Paul. For centuries, millions of believers in Jesus Christ have been persecuted and martyred. Even in our day persecution continues. Of course, in some places such persecution is quite obvious, as in Muslim-majority countries, India, China, among others. But also where the Roman church is majority or has a great influence, those who follow biblical Christianity are objects of censorship or open persecution.

However, the fiercest persecution of Christians in history is yet to come. In fact, the enemy is already preparing his agents for the final thrust. The approval of laws contrary to what the Bible commands and the consequent disavowal to preach their truths are the first signs of what is coming. And before this panorama will know who follows Christ for who He is and who will run and deny their faith with the intention of not being persecuted. Let us not forget that we can lose eternal life because we want to save the earthly. God bless you.
